Movies can show how people face problems throughout their lives and fight through it. Many times when a challenge arises people often fold and let it overcome them. However, some people work hard to get past that and whatever else life throws at them along the way. In the movie, Creed II, it reinforces the norm that people can fight through challenges and become public figures to look up to. It shows that hard work and determination can defeat any task that life throws in front of you as long as you believe in yourself.

In the first scene of the movie, it captures Adonis “Donnie” Creed knocking out his opponent to retain the championship. He proposed to his girlfriend and they are going to settle down and start a family together. His life was going well and he didn’t have much to worry about. Then we get introduced to Viktor Drago, who we would later figure out would create a lot of chaos in Donnie’s life.

Donnie started to lose sight to what was important to him as all these challenges were being thrown at him. He left Rocky behind and got a new trainer for his upcoming fight. This upcoming fight against Viktor is a very emotional one for him. His family has a past with the Drago family as Viktor’s father, Ivan, had killed Donnie’s in the ring over 30 years ago. He shows this emotion during the weigh in while he shoves Ivan after he mentions his father. Donnie gets dominated all fight but wins as Drago gets disqualified for illegally striking Donnie and injuring him.

A rematch was imminent Creed had quite the work to get done. As everyone knew Drago was much bigger and the favorite as they saw how he dominated the first. He goes back to Rocky, who had beat Ivan Drago and knows everything Creed needs to win. He gets in the gym and ignores all the chatter about Viktor and works hard for the rematch. Donnie had to get back to himself and train for how to beat Viktor. The day of the fight comes and everyone expects disaster. However, Donnie believes in himself. This goes a long way, especially in a boxing match. He fights smart and uses his training, confidence, and toughness to his advantage. He won the fight.

In the end, Creed 2 shows that people can overcome obstacles no matter the difficulty. Donnie overcomes what many people thought would be impossible for him. Recovering from severe injury after the first fight and overcoming the emotions of his fathers death. He pushes these to the side, trains hard, and believed in himself and his training and achieves his goal.
